Room 58 is a space designed for writers who need a consistent quiet professional environment and is located in the up and coming east side of the Gowanus Canal (see Gowanus Lounge). Occupying a corner of Brooklyn Art Space's shared studio space for visual artists, Room 58 has an office with desks, fax, printer, research materials and file storage, and an inner quiet room with eight individual cubicles and a couple nice views of Manhattan.
"For some of our writers, telephone work is essential to what they do," says Scott Adkins, co-founder of Park Slope's popular Brooklyn Writers Space (BWS) and partner in the Room 58/Brooklyn Art Space venture. "but all writers in need of a quiet place to work will find Room 58 ideal."
Room 58 is a joint venture between BWS and Brooklyn Art Space.
